Beginner Training Plan
Your first lesson
Focus: Rules and scoring, grip, stance, basic strokes, and strategy 1. Quick intro and goal setting 2. Paddle grip 3. Ready position and athletic stance 4. Forehand and backhand groundstrokes 5. Dink introduction at the kitchen line 6. Serve basics: Takeaway: A strong, comfortable start with a few key things to practice right away.
Lesson 2-3
Focus: Repetition, rhythm, and real play 1. Serve & return consistency 2. Dinking with purpose – control & patience 3. Basic volley technique 4. Movement & footwork around the non-volley zone 5. Court positioning Drills + Live Play: Repetition-based drills with controlled mini-games
Lesson 4-10
Focus: Intermediate-level concepts and competitive play Third shot drop & drive decision-making 1. Transition zone footwork (mid-court movement) 2. Blocking, resets, and countering speed 3. Game strategy: where to hit and why 4. Positioning for doubles and effective communication Drills + Play: Themed match play, situational games, targeted skill work Takeaway: Begin reading the game, reacting smarter, and playing more confidently in competitive settings.
Lesson 11+
Focus: Advanced strategy, refinement, and tournament readiness (if desired) 1. Sharpening strengths and improving weak spots 2. Pressure drills and scenario-based play 3. Many beginners see noticeable improvement after just one or two lessons. With consistent practice between lessons, you’ll typically experience steady progress and increased confidence on the court within a few weeks.

Where do lessons take place?
Pickleball lessons can take place at any court your coach has access to or any court you provide, as long as it’s within your instructor’s travel radius. Each coach lists their preferred locations for lessons, but you’re welcome to suggest alternatives. Keep in mind that public courts without reservations can be crowded during peak hours. Locations requiring reservation fees or additional costs will clearly note these charges on the location map.
Is my lesson fully private?
Lessons are generally private, allowing you focused attention and comfortable learning. If you’d like to bring a friend or have someone watch, simply inform your coach in advance

It depends on your goals! Whether you’re new to pickleball or just looking to refine your game, our weekly lesson subscription is the best value.
